Semantic Classification Engine (SCE): Multi-Ontology, Customer-Adaptive Semantic Understanding

The Semantic Classification Engine is the first stage of the harmonization architecture. It takes raw fields as they arrive from source systems and classifies each one against shared clinical ontologies, resolving what a value means rather than only what it is called.

The engine is multi-ontology by design, working across terminologies rather than committing to one, and customer-adaptive: the same engine tunes its understanding to each data estate it runs against instead of imposing one fixed mapping on every customer. It runs in production inside Axiomera.
